In Ladera Ranch, the Holiday Season Starts With a Sign-Up Date

October 22, 2026

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at Heritage Farm on Thursday, December 3. Registration for that visit opens 17 days earlier, at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 16, and the page is clear that space is limited. Much of the Ladera Ranch calendar between now and Christmas follows the same pattern. The date on the event page is the day it happens. The date that decides whether your household gets in usually comes weeks before, and the first of those dates is next week.

The dates, in order

Date What happens Where
Sat., Oct. 24 Ladera Run for Hope, 7 a.m. Eventbrite ticket
Fri., Oct. 30, 5 p.m. LARMAC online board voting closes LaderaLife
Sun., Nov. 1 Holiday Decorating Contest registration opens LaderaLife
Sun., Nov. 8 Pickleball tournament, residents only LaderaLife, after login
Mon., Nov. 16, 9 a.m. Santa Visits registration opens LaderaLife
Wed., Dec. 2 Decorating Contest registration closes LaderaLife
Fri., Dec. 4, 8 p.m. Winter Fest Kids Market vendor sign-up closes Kids Markets
Mon., Dec. 14 Red Cross blood drive appointments RedCrossBlood.org

Most of those rows send you to the same place, so that's the first thing to set up.

Every window opens behind a login

LaderaLife.com is the official community website, run for residents. For the events with limited space, the page puts registration behind a login. The Teen Movie Night and Haunted Maze, the pickleball clinics and tournament, and the holiday workshops all hold back sign-up until you're logged in.

Creating an account takes one detail most people don't keep handy:

  1. Find your most recent LARMAC monthly assessment statement.
  2. Copy the 4-digit HOA account number printed on it.
  3. Enter your name, choose your street address from the dropdown, and add your unit number if you have one.
  4. If you can't find the number, email the LARMAC office at [email protected].

Step four is the one to deal with now. An email to the LARMAC office on the morning of November 16 is a reply you'll be waiting on while Santa time slots fill up. The account also matters before then. It's the route into the first deadline of the season, which has nothing to do with the holidays.

October 30: the vote that comes first

LARMAC, the Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation, is holding its board election now. Online voting closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026. Results are announced at the annual meeting on Wednesday, November 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse, 28192 O'Neill Drive. The meeting is open to the membership, with no separate registration listed.

The same weekend has two events that need advance action. The first Ladera Run for Hope starts at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, at Town Green, 28801 Sienna Parkway. Ladera Ranch Run Club and LARCS, Ladera Ranch Community Services, are hosting it, and it benefits Breast Cancer Solutions. Tickets go through the Eventbrite listing, which shows a $39.19 price and says all ages are welcome.

That evening, the Teen Leadership Council presents a Haunted Maze and Outdoor Movie Night at Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse from 7 to 10 p.m., screening Hotel Transylvania. It's open to grades 6 through 12, registration is on LaderaLife, and the page warns that it sells out. Two days before the event, the realistic question is whether spots are still available.

November 1 through December 2: the longest window

The Holiday Decorating Contest gives you the most lead time of anything on the calendar. Registration opens Sunday, November 1, and closes Wednesday, December 2. Voting runs on an interactive map starting Thursday, December 3, and the contest runs through December 15. Winners get a gift card and a yard sign to keep up for the rest of the season.

The categories have changed this year to give more residents a chance to take part, according to the contest page. One of them, New Kid on the Block, is only for first-time entrants, whether that's a newer household or a longtime resident decorating for the first time. Most Creative Use of Lights is judged on originality, and the page says quantity counts for less than ingenuity. Best Use of Theme asks for one idea carried through the whole display, with examples like The Grinch or The Nutcracker.

The timing works in your favor. Registering in early November means your address is on the voting map when it goes live December 3. The lights only need to be up by then.

November 8 and 11: the middle of the month

The Recreational Mixed Doubles Pickleball Tournament fills Sunday, November 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Avendale Village Clubhouse courts. It shows how the community's limited-space events tend to work. Every participant must be a Ladera Ranch resident. One player registers for the team. The fee is $25 per team and covers refreshments and lunch. Divisions are capped at 8 teams for 3.0 and 16 teams each for 3.5 and the open 4.0 to 4.5 bracket. If your division sells out, you can ask to join the waitlist at [email protected]. If it rains, the tournament is rescheduled and there are no refunds. A team of two in the 3.0 bracket is competing for one of only eight spots.

The free Adult Beginner Pickleball Clinics run on November 7 and 21 and December 5 and 19, with eight participants per clinic, and registration requires a login.

The Veterans Day event on Wednesday, November 11, lists no attendee registration. It runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Town Green, the ceremony starts at 10:30, and Lion's Heart Group 2029 is the organizer. The one thing to do ahead of time is order a veteran tribute sign through the Google form linked on the event page.

November 16: the morning that matters most

Santa Visits registration opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 16. The rules are tight. Each Ladera Ranch address gets one registration. That registration covers one family, household members only. Space is limited. Each time slot includes several families, so expect a short wait, and bring your own camera.

The visit is Thursday, December 3, from 4 to 7:45 p.m. at Heritage Farm on McGwire Road. LARCS reserves 4 to 4:30 p.m. for families of children with autism, special needs or disabilities, so those children can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in a calmer setting.

The one-per-address rule is the reason the LaderaLife account matters so much. Registration is tied to the home, and the account is tied to the home's HOA number. A household that sets up its login in October is ready at 9 a.m. A household still looking for its assessment statement that morning is starting late.

December 4 through 6: where the windows end

The Winter Fest page lists no attendee registration. The festival is Saturday, December 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Town Green, with inflatables, crafts, holiday performances and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. At 5 p.m., Santa lights the park's holiday display. Mercantile Way is closed between Sienna Parkway and First Street from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day, so plan your route around Town Green.

The window is for young sellers. Winter Fest's Kids Market is run with Kids Markets, and vendor sign-up closes at 8 p.m. on December 4, 2026, or earlier if it sells out. Sellers must be ages 5 to 17 and able to run their own booth. Families bring their own canopy, table and chairs. Food and drink sales, face painting and airbrush art are not allowed. Kids Markets expects about 1,500 shoppers, which is a lot of foot traffic for a first business.

The next evening, Sunday, December 6, the Menorah Lighting runs from 4 to 6 p.m. at Covenant Hills Clubhouse, 1 Covenant Hills Drive. LARCS is partnering with local organizations, and no pre-registration is listed. Letters to Santa go in the special mailbox at the Avendale Clubhouse, and Santa writes back.

What needs no sign-up at all

Some of the season simply happens. The Ladera Ranch Farmers Market runs Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Daisy Street and Avendale Boulevard, and its season ends December 27. The Red Cross blood drive on December 14 is the exception to LaderaLife sign-ups. Appointments are booked directly on RedCrossBlood.org using the sponsor code "Ladera Ranch."

Mid-December also has two adult workshops, a holiday macramé class on the 15th and Wine, Wrap & Swap on the 16th. Both are 21-and-over and registered through LaderaLife. By then, any household with a working login has been using it since October.

Our family has spent a lot of Decembers in South Orange County, and we've learned that the best-planned seasons start with a few calendar reminders set in October. If a move, a sale or a new address is coming up for you next year, Casa Bella Realty Group can help you plan that timeline too, starting with a free home valuation whenever you're ready.
